STUDIO: EOYS BRANDING FEEDBACK

During a one to one crit session, I received some feedback on my EOYS branding so I could perhaps push it further before I had to hand it in for review. During the crit I received both positive and negative feedback. The positive aspects were that my visual identity was incredibly strong and it looked great. The animation was amazing and had obvious connotations of the concept however that was it.

The negative feedback was that the colours made it look like a sex shop so perhaps I could ease it down a little bit on the contrast of black and white. Perhaps I could use less black and more pink? Another point made was that this could be branding for anything if I changed the type, for example it could be a rave flyer, clothing shop or Ann Summers. To fix this I needed come up with a short tag line or title that gave the branding more individual character. This would help make it look more like an end of year show exhibition rather then a sex shop. I was informed that the part in the animation where the event info is slightly covered over with a transition circle was very interested and perhaps I could include that in the rest of the branding to create curiosity throughout, perhaps baking the question of 'what is this?'

Finally, I was told that the circle in the lower part of the poster was too much of a contemporary design decision and was a trend that did not relate to this brief therefore I should consider its purpose.  When developing this idea, I also needed to consider the concept and perhaps make it stronger and more related to education/University.
