STUDIO: INITAL IDEAS FOR RESEARCH BRIEF

  1. Collect all of Briget Burpee's work from her online archive and create a book expressing the amazing work she did for the genre. This would give her the credit she deserves given the fact she invented the aesthetic for movement of Straight Edge Hardcore with no credit whatsoever.
  2. Redesign a modern Hardcore album cover in the style of three original Hardcore Punk sub-genres. i.e: Straight Edge, New York Hardcore and Metallic Hardcore.
  3. Create a guide/zine that explains how to design an album cover/merch in the style of each Hardcore Punk sub-genre or how to spot the difference between them all.
  4. Design an informative zine that discusses each Hardcore sub-genre and explains what they believe in and their individual mantras. Each sub-genre contains very strong beliefs. Make sure it is clear what each sub-genre works for.
  5. Take the ideologies of how the Straight Edge Hardcore movement hijacked minimalist European design in their album artwork and westernised it, inevitably branding the entire genres album covers, merchandise and posters, and apply it to a different genre of music.
