STUDIO: DISAPPOINTMENT ZINE RESEARCH

Some research I did into a similar zine that was titled 'Click Bait' boosted the development of my idea further. 'Click Bait' was a zine simply about clickbait articles online and the designer sourced all of the imagery and content exactly from her phone where she was receiving these annoying articles. She did this by screen grabbing text and images and scaling them to the correct proportions to be readable in the zine.

I felt like to get images that were low quality yet still considered I could use this approach of collecting content from my phone by screen grabbing relevant imagery that could resemble the theme of disappointed. I'd have to find imagery that had a vague link to disappointment as I explained this idea in a crit and was made aware that I shouldn't choose imagery that gave too much of a narrative and took away from the originally idea of the project.

I began some further research into these 'disappointing' things that could be included within my zine. It had to be quite vague but still lend a subtle nod towards the theme. After some time on my phone screen grabbing things from several articles titled 'most disappointing things ever' these are the things I found.
