STUDIO: D&AD POSTER DEVELOMENT

To begin typesetting my content in a more experimental way I decided to arrange it in reflection of where that specific lyric on the poster was within the song. I illustrated a simple time scale structured around the dimensions of an A3 poster. The time scale represents 5 stages of the song given the fact I will have 5 posters. Depending on where the song lyric was within the song it would be paired up with that section of the scale. I then type set each point from the previous article within the corresponding scale frame.

After I had the typesetting ready to be applied to each poster, I generated 2 more posters with more lyrics and new colours, making sure they stayed within the house style of the others. The extra lyrics I included were 'You'll All be Stars' and 'Tell me You Can Stay'.

I applied all the components of type and colour together to finally create my final poster set. Reading the song lyrics in order with the points from the article give the audience clear direction and understanding that it is in fact alright to be alone. Above each point on each poster is also a clear prompt that states 'Feeling Lonely?' asking a simple question which could be seen as a negative thing but once the content is understood, turned into a positive.

Once I had the typesetting appropriately formatted I decided to include it on the back of the record sleeve to give it more context relating to the campaign. I flipped the colours around so the type was blue and the main sleeve was white so it was clear which side was which. This completed the sleeve very well and helped link it up to the posters perfectly.
